Sage People is a cloud-based HCM platform built on Salesforce that supports global HR teams across recruiting, core HR, and workforce management. It helps organizations manage complex, multi-region people operations through configurable workflows, role-based access, and integrated people data.
Project Summary
Recruiters and hiring managers struggled to coordinate interviews across time zones, roles, and availability using disconnected tools. Scheduling was manual, error-prone, and time-consuming, often requiring multiple rounds of emails and calendar updates. This led to delays in the hiring process and a fragmented experience for both recruiters and candidates.
The opportunity was to design a centralized scheduling experience embedded directly within Sage People that reduced friction, improved visibility, and scaled across global hiring teams.
Reimagining the Day-to-Day Workflow
I led the design of the Recruiter Scheduler to streamline how recruiters, hiring managers, and candidates coordinate interviews within Sage People.
The experience enabled recruiters to:
View interviewer availability across teams and time zones in one place
Propose and confirm interview slots directly within the platform
Reduce back-and-forth coordination and duplicate scheduling work
Maintain clarity across complex, multi-round interview flows
The UI prioritized clarity and speed, helping recruiters move candidates through the hiring pipeline with confidence while reducing administrative effort by an estimated 30–40% for interview coordination tasks.
Designing for Scale, Trust, and Evolution
The Recruiter Scheduler did not previously exist in Sage People, creating an opportunity to design a native, scalable solution rather than rely on external tools.
I designed the scheduler as part of a broader candidate and hiring experience, tightly integrated with Sage People’s data model, permissions, and workflow patterns. This foundation:
Reduced dependency on third-party scheduling tools
Supported global organizations operating across multiple time zones and regions
Established reusable scheduling patterns that could be extended to other HR workflows
This system-level approach positioned Sage People to support higher hiring volumes without proportional increases in recruiter workload.
The Recruiter Scheduler transformed interview coordination from a fragmented, manual process into a seamless, in-platform experience.
As a result:
Interview scheduling time decreased by an estimated 25–40%
Recruiters were able to move candidates through interview stages faster
Hiring teams gained clearer visibility into interview status and ownership
Candidates experienced more consistent and professional scheduling interactions
Beyond efficiency gains, the work strengthened Sage People’s recruiting offering by consolidating critical hiring workflows within the platform and improving adoption across global recruiting teams.
